Solid Hardwood / Engineered Hardwood / Pre-Finished Hardwood

Hardwood floors create an elegant and inviting environment in your home. Natural colors, beautiful grains, and perfectly imperfect marks speak to the character and uniqueness of each board.

Solid vs. Engineered Hardwood Flooring.

Solid hardwood flooring is milled from a single 3/4” thick piece of hardwood. Because of its thickness, a solid hardwood floor can be sanded and refinished over several generations of use. Traditional solid hardwood flooring is not well-suited for high-moisture areas, such as bathrooms or below-grade installations. Solid wood flooring may be used over plywood, wood, or OSB subfloors.

Flooring

Engineered hardwood flooring is produced using three to five layers of hardwood. Each layer is stacked in a cross-grain configuration and bonded together under heat and pressure. As a result, engineered wood flooring is less likely to be affected by changes in humidity and can be installed at all levels of the home.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring

Hardwood floors represent the beauty and variety already found in nature using a wide range of hardwood species including maple, oak, hickory, walnut, pine, birch, and cherry.

Customer Testimonial

We want to say a big "thank you!!' for all of your work in getting our living room floor put in. It is absolutely beautiful!!

From the very beginning of the process, we really respected and appreciated your meticulous care in measuring the area, finding the wood, and determining the quote. We were very grateful that you then set us up with Dave Williams and his son, because they were awesome!! They are real artists, and real professionals.

The floor is gorgeous, and we love it!! We waited a long time to have this done, and we are so thrilled that we chose Lake Murray Flooring to do the job!! Everything was perfect.

We highly recommend you, and your shop. Thanks again.

Customer Testimonial

Thank y'all for your wonderful work!

Y'all are true master craftsmen in every sense of the word. Your floors are beautiful - we love them. We had no idea of the science & artistry involved. Your precise and clean cuts of wood door frames really shows. The floors are super tight and straight. But it's y'alls art work that makes them stunning. Y'all knew the correct spots where to sand the sub floor and you carefully selecte each piece of wood to yield the perfect variance of color and detail of wood grain. Your "rack" of each room was impeccable. That's why we asked your to sign your work - it's a beautiful painting.

Hardwood Flooring Care & Maintenance

For cleaning, make sure you...

  • Use a damp cloth to blot spills and spots as soon as they happen. For tough spots, such as oil, paint, markers, lipstick, ink, tar, or cigarette marks, use acetone/nail polish remover on a clean white cloth, then wipe with a damp cloth. Always avoid allowing liquids to stand on your floor.
  • Sweep, dust, or vacuum the floor regularly with the hard floor attachment (not the beater bar) to prevent accumulation of dirt or grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish.
  • Occasionally wipe the floor with a damp mop or cloth.

While cleaning is easy, there are a few things to avoid:

  • Don't use oil based, wax, polish, or strong ammoniated or abrasive cleaners.
  • Don't use steel wool or scouring powder.
  • Don't wash or wet-mop the floor with soap, water, oil-soap detergent, or any other liquid cleaning material. This could cause swelling, warping, delamination, and joint-line separation, and void the warranty.
  • Don't use any type of buffing machine.
